Our approach

The child does the work. We prepare everything around them.

A Montessori classroom is not quiet because children are told to be. It is quiet because they are absorbed. Our guides observe rather than instruct, offering a lesson at the moment a child is ready for it, then stepping back so concentration can take hold.

Everything a child touches is real — glass, wood, water, ceramic. Real materials invite real care. That care becomes independence, and independence becomes the confidence you will see the first time your child insists on doing it themselves.

Why families choose us

Two traditions, held together properly

01

Authentic Montessori practice

Full three-hour uninterrupted work cycles, complete material sets and mixed-age communities, led by Montessori-trained guides.

02

British Early Years framework

The seven areas of learning of the EYFS are mapped onto Montessori practice, so progress is documented in a language UK schools recognise.

03

Deliberately small ratios

From one adult to four infants up to one to ten in kindergarten, every child is genuinely known by the adults who guide them.

04

Prepared, beautiful environments

Natural light, real glass and wood, plants cared for by children, and everything within a child’s reach and at a child’s scale.

05

A home-like environment

Safety and security are paramount. Children arrive into warm, familiar rooms where they are known by name and cared for as they would be at home.

06

Play is how children learn

Quality educators guide rather than direct, so children play to learn and grow — building language, confidence and independence through their own purposeful work.

The age pathway

From the first steps to the year before school

Children move through four prepared environments, each one built for what that age genuinely needs — not a scaled-down version of the next stage.

  1. 4 months – 2 years

    Infant & Toddler Community

A calm, home-like environment where babies and toddlers move freely, feed and sleep to their own rhythm, and begin the practical life work that builds independence.

  2. 2 – 3 years

    Pre-Casa

The bridge into the Casa years. Toddlers refine coordination and language through pouring, sorting, dressing frames and grace-and-courtesy lessons.

  3. 3 – 4 years

    Casa dei Bambini / Primary

The full three-hour uninterrupted work cycle across all five Montessori areas, guided by trained Montessori teachers in a mixed-age community.

  4. 4 – 6 years

    Kindergarten / Foundation Stage

The kindergarten years bring the Montessori elementary bridge together with the British Early Years Foundation Stage, preparing children confidently for Year 1.

A day at British Oak

Three uninterrupted hours, then the garden

The morning belongs to the work cycle. Children choose their work, return it, and choose again — for as long as their concentration holds. Nothing interrupts it: no bell, no timetable, no adult calling the room to attention.

Afterwards the doors open to a shaded garden where the same lessons continue in sand, water and soil. In the UAE climate, outdoor time is planned around the heat rather than surrendered to it.

The five areas

What is actually on the shelves

Every material in the classroom belongs to one of five areas, and every one of them isolates a single idea so the child can meet it clearly.

Practical Life
Pouring, buttoning, sweeping and food preparation. Real tasks with real consequences build coordination, concentration, independence and order.
Sensorial
Materials that isolate one quality at a time — dimension, colour, weight, sound — so the child classifies and refines what the senses already gather.
Language
Spoken vocabulary, sandpaper letters and the movable alphabet lead children into writing before reading, in English with parallel Arabic exposure.
Mathematics
Number rods, spindle boxes and the golden beads make quantity tangible, so abstraction arrives only once the hand already understands.
Culture
Geography, botany, zoology, history, science, music and art — the child’s place in a wide world, explored through material and story.

From our families

What parents tell us

Our daughter walked in barely speaking and now narrates her whole day to us. What struck us most was how calm the classroom is — nobody is rushing the children.

A Casa community family

Al Ghadeer, Abu Dhabi

We moved from London and were worried about continuity. The EYFS reporting made the transition seamless, and the Montessori work is the real thing.

A Kindergarten family

The infant community gave us confidence as first-time parents. The updates are detailed and honest, never generic.
